Exam 6T

Exam 6-Taipei is the Taipei version of the CAS's Exam 6, which every ACAS candidate sits in one version — Canada, United States, International or Taipei. The CAS does not set this one itself. The Actuarial Institute of Chinese Taipei (AICT) uses the CAS examinations for its property-casualty actuaries. The CAS Board of Directors approved two AICT exams, Exam 6GA3 and Exam 6GB3, as fulfilling the nation-specific requirement for CAS membership, effective January 1, 2010.

About the exam

In the CAS's 2011 transition to its revised basic education structure, the learning objectives of the 2010 nation-specific exams were mapped both to the new Exam 6 on Regulation and Financial Reporting and to the new Online Course 2 on Insurance Accounting, Coverage Analysis, Insurance Law, and Insurance Regulation. The AICT continues to cover material from both. A candidate who has passed both AICT Exams 6GA3 and 6GB3 is therefore granted credit for both CAS Exam 6-Taipei and Online Course 2.

Applying for CAS exam credit. A candidate who has passed both parts of the AICT nation-specific exam after January 1, 2010 may apply to the CAS for exam credit, with a written request to exam-waivers@casact.org. The request must give the candidate's full legal name, contact information (including mailing address and telephone number), date of birth, and the administration (month and year) in which each AICT exam part was passed. The CAS verifies the exam information with the AICT and then updates the candidate's record.
